Wut: Here’s What This Muslim Drag Queen Has To Say About Islam’s “Queerness.” It’s Strange.

(Tea Party 247) – There is one mind-numbing double-standard on the left when it comes to religious views on homosexuality.

While adherents of the Christian faith who believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman and that homosexuality is a sin that one ought to repent of, and go to great lengths to share the Gospel message of hope with this community so that they will be spared judgment, Islamists throw homosexuals off buildings.

Which faith do you think that the left defends more?

That’s right, Islam.

Jihad Watch founder Robert Spencer explains:

Over the years many people have asked me why Leftists so love Islam as to turn a blind eye to the global jihad, despite the complete opposition of their moral perspectives. The short answer is that the enemy of my enemy is my friend: the Left, avid to destroy America, saw a group that has been trying to destroy the free world for 1,400 years and saw an ally.

Well, this unholy alliance just took a strange turn:

But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any cracks in the edifice. In an attempt Thursday to shore up the Leftist/Islamic alliance, a self-described “Muslim drag queen” named Amrou Al-Kadhi, also known as “Glamrou,” has published an article in Vice magazine entitled “why islam is inherently queer” (yes, all lower case; are capital letters homophobic?). It’s a dogged exercise in ignoring the obvious.

“Glamrou” begins by explaining that Muhammad would have supported his, um, hobby.

“Prophet Muhammed once said, ‘Islam began as something strange and will return to being something strange, so give blessings to those who are strange.’ Amen Muhammed! ”

Spencer notes that he could have also mentioned that Muhammad himself was fond of cross-dressing. “The revelation does not come to me when I am in the garment of any woman except Aisha” (Sahih Bukhari 54.7.2442).

“Was Muhammad himself the first ‘Muslim drag queen’?” Spencer bonders. “Imagine the paroxysms of joy this would inspire in the Vice magazine offices!”

It would be remiss not to mention, however, that this was never used in the Muslim sources as any kind of excuse for homosexuality.

Spencer explains:

The hadith collection Muslims consider to be the most reliable (Sahih Bukhari) quotes Muhammad talking about prancing around in the clothes of his child bride Aisha, the prophet of Islam is also depicted as saying this: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Lot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done’” (Sunan Abu Dawud 4462).

Unfortunately for Glamrou and Vice, the Qur’an contains numerous condemnations of homosexual activity: “And [We had sent] Lot when he said to his people, ‘Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds? Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people.’…And We rained upon them a rain [of stones]. Then see how was the end of the criminals” (Qur’an 7:80-84).

It is no surprise that Amrou Al-Kadhi doesn’t mention any of that in his Vice magazine piece. It doesn’t fit his narrative.

It is pretty extraordinary how “Glamrou” completely ignores the parts of the Islamic sources that you’d think any self-respecting leftist would condemn.

There is this amazing bait-and-switch that goes on with the left when it comes to religious views of homosexuality. They take all the horror that one might have at the Islamic view of homosexuality and apply it to Christianity, while Christians, meanwhile, do little more to homosexuals than hold up signs about the judgment they’re trying to spare them from at gay pride parades.

Let’s finish with this image. When gay marriage became the law of the land in the United States, ISIS celebrated by throwing homosexual men off a roof. They shared a video with the hashtag #LoveWins.

Christians prayed. There were no riots, no violence, no hate crimes, and certainly no murder.

I ask, again…which one of these religions does the left defend?
