(Tea Party 247) – There’s a lot to be concerned about with the coronavirus outbreak and it goes far beyond just our physical health, which of course, is critically important. In fact, the other two big concernes we ought to have besides our health and that of our families is the economic impact of the virus along with how the government measures being taken will also affect our liberties and freedoms.
Well, on that last front, the steps taken by the Center for Disease Control recently involving social media and other tech giants should have Americans across the country very worried about the state of liberty during this crisis.
Apparently, the CDC is asking for Twitter, Google, Facebook and others to help them find out if Americans are actually practicing proper social distancing. In other words, they want these institutions to spy on you and see if you are doing what you are told.
Here’s more from Gateway Pundit:
NBC News reported:
The White House and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are asking Facebook, Google and other tech giants to give them greater access to Americans’ smartphone location data in order to help them combat the spread of the coronavirus, according to four people at companies involved in the discussions who are not authorized to speak about them publicly.
Federal health officials say they could use anonymous, aggregated user data collected by the tech companies to map the spread of the virus — a practice known as “syndromic surveillance” — and prevent further infections. They could also use the data to see whether people were practicing “social distancing.
One of the problems with giving the government more power and authority over your life in times of crisis is that they rarely ever give back what they take away. They keep it for themselves and use it against you long after the crisis has come to a close. Is that what we are headed for here?
Well, it’s very possible.
The government is always looking for ways to expand its authority and there’s no better way to get people on board with such a move than by taking full advantage of a crisis situation. Kind of like how liberal Democrats in the House were trying to sneak in a lot of pork in the coronavirus relief bills. They were totally using this outbreak to help further their political agendas in a rather disgusting manner.
On top of all that, we need to be watchful for martial law, because once that kicks in, the world will change radically. Life as we know it will be over, at least for a time. Maybe for good. Who knows?
There’s a lot that can be justified during a crisis. People are willing to trade liberty for safety when they are pressed hard enough. That’s what made the founding generation of this nation so unique. They didn’t give in to that temptation, but stayed the course, winning our liberty no matter the cost to their personal healthy, safety, and wealth.
Is this generation the kind that would fight to the death for liberty? Something tells me not.
