(Tea Party 247) – President Donald Trump fought for this nation harder than anyone has done for a very long time.
He completely transformed politics, revealing the dark, underbelly of the mainstream establishment and enlivening a populist base like never before seen.
And, he assures us, he’s only getting started.
Could this enigmatic figure, who used social media to his constant advantage and was ultimately shut down and silenced by the threatened leftist establishment, be geared up to bring the American people the social media alternative they so sorely need?
Looks like this could be the case.
On Wednesday night, former President Donald Trump joined Greg Kelly on Newsmax TV in one of his first interviews since leaving office.
He dropped a big hint about his future on social media, Big League Politics reports.
“They really wanted me on Parler, and, you know, I had 89 million, but that was because they held it back,” he said of how Twitter manipulated his reach before he got booted from the platform on January.
“And then on top of that, I had 36 million, or 39 million, on @POTUS. And we had other sites where we had millions and millions of people, so I guess we were about as big as it gets, and likewise on Facebook, and they all want that, and part of the problem is mechanically, they can’t handle that,” he continued.
Much discussion has surrounded where he will settle on the internet, and he expressed the very real concern that were he to switch to one of the alternatives, the site would not be able to handle the additional traffic.
Parler was booted off its Amazon web hosting in January, and has since been working to get set up elsewhere.
Other platforms like Gab, BLP notes, have struggled to keep up functions as popularity booms.
Trump was firmly disinterested in getting on the Big Tech outlets, and noticed how Twitter has been declining since he was banned.
However, Trump has no desire to get back on the major social media platforms and noted the considerable waning of Twitter since his ban.
“If you look at what’s going with Twitter, I understand that it’s become very boring and millions of people are leaving. They’re leaving it because it’s not the same and I can understand that,” he said.
“We’re negotiating with a number of people, and there’s also the other operation of building your own site. You can literally build your own site,” he added.
“We were being really harassed on Twitter. They were putting up all sorts of flags, I guess they call them. They were flagging almost anything you said. Everything I was saying was being flagged. It’s disgraceful, and yet you have other foreign countries saying the worst things possible, and they don’t even talk about it. But it’s become very boring. We don’t want to go back to Twitter,” Trump said.
