(Tea Party 247) – When you take a long look at the mainstream media, it’s pretty easy to see the vast majority of the outlets who produce news products for mass consumption are nothing more than propaganda machines who push the liberal agenda full force down the throats of American viewers and readers.
However, every once in a while, a left-leaning reporter or anchor breaks ranks and decides to try and grasp what is left of journalistic integrity floating in the ether and apply it to their career, proving that objectivity and balance in reporting isn’t totally six feet in the grave after all.
One such individual, at least as of late, is CBS News anchor Gayle King. During an interview with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, King smacked Pelosi for putting Trump’s “henchmen” on blast.
Hold on to your hats, folks. This is almost too good to be true.
The discussion was on the much-anticipated debate next week between the president and Democratic nominee Joe Biden, and King asked Pelosi if she still feels that Biden shouldn’t debate Trump — Pelosi had previously said that Biden should not.
“I do — not that I don’t think that [Biden] will be excellent,” Pelosi said. “I just think that the president has no fidelity to fact or truth, and actually in his comments the last few days, no fidelity to the Constitution of the United States.”
“He and his henchmen are a danger — with their comments — are a danger to our democracy,” the speaker continued. “So I don’t want to give him — why bother? He isn’t committed to the Constitution.”
(Pelosi was referencing the media-generated non-story about a peaceful transition of power, should Trump lose the election.)

While Pelosi’s rhetoric would easily slide on CNN or MSNBC, King called foul.
“But Speaker Pelosi, that’s what people say is the problem,” she said. “Your language to some is just as egregious as what they’re saying — by calling the president’s people ‘henchmen.’ Some could say that’s just as insulting as what he’s saying about you.”
Ignoring Gayle’s criticism of her words, Pelosi replied, “Well, I don’t care what he says about me.”
She doesn’t care what Trump says about her? I find that rather difficult to believe. She’s constantly getting irritated with the president and those who support him, like when the administration raked her over the coals for her little visit to the salon a few weeks back which violated the coronavirus lockdown rules.
“Every knock from him is a boost for me. If he wants to help me raise money, he can keep knocking me,” the Democrat said.
“But I’m speaking truth,” Pelosi added, before proceeding to further distort the truth.
In an interview Monday with White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, King drew praise for being even-handed, though she did throw out a gotcha-style question about Trump nominating someone to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court.
It takes a lot of guts to attempt to be fair and balanced in a day and age when the mainstream media is expecting you to be fully on board with their agenda in a form of gutless groupthink. To not be in lockstep with their goals and ideology is to risk being ostracized and cut off from the party.
However, we need people who are like King, who are brave and willing to step up to the plate and try to hold both sides accountable for the things they say and do.
