Et Tu, Chick-Fil-A? Check Out Who The Christian Owned Chicken Restaurant Is Donating To Now

(Tea Party 247) – Chick-fil-A has become something of a heroic business entity among Christians and conservatives due to the fact the company is owned by believers in Jesus Christ who have stood boldly on their proclamations of faith, facing persecution due to their stand on traditional marriage and keeping the store closed on Sundays so folks would be free to attend church.

However, it looks like the good old days of celebrating Chick-fil-A might be rapidly coming to an end. Not only does it seem the company has capitulated to demands by the LGBTQ community that they stop donating to groups opposed to the homosexual lifestyle, but they also are donating funds to the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that is staunchly anti-Christian.

Here’s what we know so far.

Via Breitbart:

Internal Revenue Service (IRS) records show that Chick-fil-A is not only stopping donations to Christian organizations but is funding left-wing extremist groups, including the anti-Christian Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

Chick-fil-A’s 2017 990 IRS filing shows the fast-food franchise made a $2,500 donation to SPLC, among a laundry list of pro-abortion and pro-LGBT orgs, Townhall reports. The Chick-fil-A Foundation has come under conservative scrutiny since its decision to stop supporting Christian charities such as the Salvation Army, caving to disingenuous pressure campaigns from far-left activists.

The SPLC is most infamous for inspiring an attempted domestic terror attack against the Family Research Council (FRC), a group that lobbies for pro-marriage and pro-life policies.

In 2013, Floyd Lee Corkins II was sentenced to 25 years in prison in the first-ever conviction for domestic terrorism under Washington, DC, law. Corkins pled guilty to assault with intent to kill and committing an act of terrorism for entering the FRC’s office in August 2012 and shooting a black security guard, who ultimately thwarted his attack. Corkins used the SPLC’s “hate map” — an error–filled digital map giving the addresses of entities that the org deems “hate groups” — to locate the FRC for his planned massacre.

Corkins was carrying a bag of Chick-fil-A sandwiches when he entered the building and started shooting. He later told prosecutors that he planned to smear some of the food on the faces of his would-be victims.

FRC President Tony Perkins swiftly denounced the Chick-fil-A Foundation’s support of “one of the most extreme anti-Christian groups in America.”

“Not only has Chick-fil-A abandoned donations to Christian groups including the Salvation Army, it has donated to one of the most extreme anti-Christian groups in America,” Perkins said in a statement. “Anyone who opposes the SPLC, including many Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, and traditional conservatives, is slandered and slapped with the ‘extremist’ label or even worse, their ‘hate group’ designation.”

“It’s time for Christians to find a fast food alternative to Chick-fil-A,” he concluded.

In addition to the FRC terrorism episode, the SPLC has suffered a number of other setbacks and humiliations, but it has not backed down from its extremist agenda, refreshing its “Hate Map” in 2018 and putting mainstream conservative activists in the same category as neo-Nazis and the alt-right.

The FRC remains a target on the map, even after the listing nearly got some of its staff killed. Other supposed “hate groups” include the Center for Immigration Studies, Center for Security Policy, Federation for American Immigration Reform, and the Clarion Project.

After Corkins’ prosecution, federal agencies began distancing themselves from the then-discredited SPLC. The Department of Justice scrubbed its hate crimes web page of any association from the org in 2014, and the Department of Defense soon followed suit in its training materials. In August 2018, then-U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions called out the org while speaking at the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) — which SPLC has labeled a “hate group.”

The SPLC’s broad-brush approach to political smearing has caused it more PR headaches in recent years. In December 2017, its “Hate Tracker” — a tool ostensibly set up to monitor the conversation topics of online extremists — flagged the hashtags “#Christmas,” “#MerryChristmas,” “#Jesus,” and “#ChristmasEve.” At the time of this writing, the “Hate Tracker” website is no longer functional.

Just months earlier, the org committed an even bigger blunder, including British Muslim reformer Maajid Nawaz in a “Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists.” Nawaz sued for defamation and won a $3.375 million settlement plus an on-camera apology from SPLC President Richard Cohen.

After the Nawaz fiasco, the floodgates opened with bipartisan scrutiny of its practices. Washington Post columnist Marc A. Thiessen wrote a piece titled “The Southern Poverty Law Center has lost all credibility,” calling the org a “caricature” of its former self and urging donors to halt their support.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) wrote to the IRS in April 2019, asking for a review of the SPLC’s nonprofit 501(c)(3) status in light of its obviously partisan activities which have yielded hundreds of millions of assets and “lavish salaries” for its management.

“Recent news reports have confirmed the long-established fact that the SPLC regularly engages in defamation of its political opponents,” Cotton wrote, citing the Nawaz settlement and the org’s Hate Map. “In fact, the SPLC’s defining characteristic is to fundraise off of defamation.”

In March of 2019, the SPLC fired its founder Morris Dees, suggesting some kind of misconduct. A local reporter said several sources told him Dees had been accused of sexual harassment. In addition, SPLC employees reportedly accused management of being “complicit in decades of racial discrimination, gender discrimination, and sexual harassment and/or assault.”

Now, to be fair, folks who believe in Jesus Christ should never be putting their faith in a man or a man made institution to be some sort of savior figure. At the end of the day, Chick-fil-A is just a restaurant. It’s a business that has a superior product to many of its competitors, and while its affiliation with traditional Christian values is definitely commendable and most certainly preferred, the truth is, they are still a company run by a lot of different individuals.

They likely aren’t going to be super consistent as a result. However, frustration and a sense of betrayal is understandable. This company really made a killing off of looking the part of a persecuted martyr and now, for the sake of not receiving condemnation by critics on the left, it seems they are abandoning their principles.

Here’s to hoping folks at the top straighten this mess out sooner rather than later.

  1. No more Chic Fil A in our home. Our support for this business was based largely on their support of Christianity. Such a disappointment to learn they have caved to the Liberal Left. No way can a Christian support the Organizations they have now chosen to donate to. I’m sure there are other businesses that I do patronize who donate to these anti Christian Organizations, but they don’t advertise it. To the CEO of Chic Fil A, you have now chosen your poison, let’s see how it works for you!!

    • I am also the same as you. Its stand on Christian values brought me in to dine. I had lots of other choices. So now it is the other choices.

  2. Look at all your replies against CKF for their decision. You are not listening to the owners who made the decision to switch their donation to other Christian and non Christian groups. Salvation Army has hundreds of millions coming annually. A lady in San Diego about 10 years ago donated over 4 billion dollars to salvation army and that money is earning SA over 10% per annum. Thja money earns more in perpetua. Salvation army is the worls richest Christian organization, It makes sense therefore for CKF to give their money where it can show them the effects of their donation. People receiving assistance through SA does not know where the money is coming from. CKF wants to see how they can contribute directly to different organizations that they can feel more deserving. Let’s us not forget we are C hristian. If you don’t want to eat their chicken, that’s your prerogative. A $31 million annual donation by CKF is nothing compared to Walmart (forgot this company) whose founders were Christians? Do they support Christian groups? Maybe. CKF has not it’s core values abandoned its core values. Give them time to sort out their PR movement. Call the company so you will understand their moves. Don’t behave like kids who do not understand but just cry and be vengeful. Satan is really clapping his hands when Christian fight among themselves. Don’t feel betrayed. The owners will not bend to intimidation from evil forces.

    • Doesn’t anybody find it suspicious that this article has no author or traceable legitimate sources??? This article is clearly designed to hurt CFA – think before commenting!

  3. I can understand how you all feel, as I was readin this at first I felt the same. Then i put myself in the man who made the decision’s place. Did You? Here he was faced in a dilemma with an LGBTQer on one hand & you all on the other. The LGBTers would ruin all his stores, smash in their windows, etc, etc. He decided to give up while he was ahead. Continue making the sandwiches and all FOR YOU, but change ONLY who he donates to. And now you go and give up on him.
    WHO IS BEING THE JUDAS?
I believe it is all of you.

    • Only COWARDS would think the way you do! Shamefull! If crimnals take over this country that is thanks to foolish cowards as you are…

    • Why should anyone give up standing for truth because of intimidation from godless people? God’s judgment may be slow but very sure!

  4. I FELT THEY FELL AND WOULD COME BACK TO GOD AND COUNTRY. BUT WHEN THEY SINGLED OUT THE SALVATION ARMY A VOICE INSIDE ME SAID BAD WORDS. CHICK FIL-A I LOVED YOU BUT NOW I MUST LEAVE. POLITICS AND BUSINESS DO NOT MIX. LIKE JESUS SAYS YOU CANNOT SERVE TWO MASTERS. GOODBYE CHICK FIL-A. GOD BLESS THE USA. THE SPLC IS A SPIN OFF OF THE ACLU FOUNDED BY A COMMUNIST
NAMED ROGER BALDWIN. SPIRIT OF AMERICA PARTY RADIO SHOW ON YOU TUBE
ABUTOM SAVE THE KIDS ABUTOM YOU TUBE

    • the idiot as you say, is trying to keep his employees and his business safe. In the true America this would not happen. But too many of us sat back and let this crap happen. I honestly believe that Chik fil a will back and deciding where their money goes.

And the panty twisting group of Alphabet Soup cons will slink back down to where they belong

  5. So much for protecting Christian values and doing what is right rather than what increases sales. Chick-fil-a used to be an icon in the Christian community. Somewhere along the way, the executives in Chick-fil-a lost sight of those values and all the people that stood by them. Those CEO’s at Chick-Fil-A turned out to be Judas and sold us out.

    • why are you punishing the employees? That logic is messed up. You are trying to cost regular people their jobs.

I think it is a false solution. The owners will find away to still contribute to who they wish.

I also think you are looking at it from only your angle. Sometimes threats work.

  6. i do think that the businesses in the USA are looking out for the bottom line, when the fact is less than 39% say they are into religion in any way, a lot say they are religious but then their religion differs from the small evangelic group that want the USA under the laws based on the religion they support.
This is not just here it is World wide, even in Muslim countries the people are tired of the religion running their lives, and dictating their actions.

  7. Never again.
It will be interesting to see if their sales drop off because if these very stupid policy changes.
There are usually queues of cars at their drive up windows. Let’s watch and see if this continues to be the case. The customer votes with his dollars and I think that Chic etc. are in for a rude awakening

    • Does McDonalds, Burger King, Panera, Taco Bell or other fast food places donate to SPLC and other anti-Christian groups…Even ACLU had become corrupt in defending totalitarian, supremacist, apartheid and imperialist IDEOLOGY of Islam…why are those idiots suicidal and want to desteroy US REpublic?

  8. I’ve eaten there twice, but the hatred we have for support of causes is overwhelming . This country should change it’s name to Devided States instead of United States . Look at the fighting of our leaders . Look at our divorce , and crime rate, the hatred preached late night shows and places of worship is overwhelming .
For so many states legalizing drugs is sure to harm future generations, preventing young minds from maturing properly. When 36% of our millinials are leaning socialist I ask (where did we go wrong ?) . Am I among the very few claiming to be happy?
A sign posted in Cozomel (welcome to the happy side of the wall )

    • Heil:
I am also among those who claim to be in the pursuit of happiness. However, we haven’t gone wrong at all. It just so happens that millennials are the high tech generation, the useless, lazy, parent’s dependents that truly don’t give a damn about anyone, but themselves. Parents simply allowed these leaches to be just that: useless, lazy, uneducated leaches, that’s were their parents went wrong, and the Zombie Generation is following suit or worst than the millennials.
Check all past generations and you will realize where these parents of both generations went wrong.

  9. Listen up folks ,the great christian man who founded and built this company has passed away. He is probably turning in his grave seeing who he left in charge of his company .enough said he had to be deceived .

  10. Truth will always prevail
When you bring in corporate individuals they sometimes have hidden agendas
For whatever reason This Christian based organization fad changed some direction
What’s worse is so has their product
I remember when I went to the first store in my area, some 36 years ago
The food was like no other
Over the years a few popped up
    It was still great
Now with their big expansion, the quality is failing
    Chicken not done
Covering half there or falling off
    Bitter taste
    Not to mention the cost
Haven’t been frequenting them lately and now WONT GO
Never use your religion to further your business, God sees all !!!

  11. What about all the people that work there and need a job now have to choose between their faith and a pay check. All the folks that have a franchise and now do they fold as this reflects on them. So many people involved in this decision. There is a chink in the top execs office. Praying they clean this mess up and get back on track. I will miss my chicken sandwiches.

  12. I am wondering whether this is another falsehood, thrown out here like a bomb by the leftist liars. Such is their frequent tactic, used in their efforts to destroy anything and everything of the right. If this story is not truthful, the company will be exonerated by exposure of the lies behind it, eventually. If the story is true, then the company needs to quickly repent of this fall from good practices, and return to doing things honorable to God. I shall be watching, INTENTLY, and my reactions will be commensurate with what is eventually proven.
    Tom S.

    • Has anybody from Chick-FilA spoken about this? Maybe it is just a hoax just as they say about President Trump…VERIFY before abandonning Chick FilA

  13. “Now, to be fair, folks who believe in Jesus Christ should never be putting their faith in a man or a man made institution to be some sort of savior figure. At the end of the day, Chick-fil-A is just a restaurant.” The person that wrote this statement has a serious lack of understanding as to why Christians frequent Chick-Fil-A. And possibly a fundamental lack of understanding, about “FAITH”….

  14. By courting a ‘larger’ market’, Chick-fil-A has abandoned its base market which was stone cold reliable. The new ‘market’ it has embraced will never cease in its further demands, not for good food, but for ‘social’ goals that can’t be met short of turning itself into a government proxy of political correctness, to the expense of good food and to the expense of all its values. Its new ‘market’ will be the government.

    • The LGBT and liberal market is much smalled than conservative market which had eaten in Chick-filA…it will be interesting to see the market reaction to this information if it is really true that they had caved in to politically correct cultural relativism.

  15. Our family will pray for you to operate with wisdom and courage in the face of leftist intimidation. Read Psalm 23 and trust God.

  16. Perhaps this company has been infiltrated by someone who is probably an active participant in that Community. I am thoroughly, appalled at the tactics of bullying implemented by folks who practice such lewd behaviors and who become outraged at folks who refuse to accept it as ‘natural’ behavior(s). Well, CF, has really disappointed me, by not continuing to stand their ground and seemingly, nodding their heads to anything that anyone wants to do, as long as they make a buck; how disheartening. I believe God is disappointed as well, since this is really about Biblical Morals and not man’s opinions. So who should CF obey? God of course! and then get back to that truth given to us in God’s word.

  17. Never thought I would see Chick- Fil-A cave to political correctness? I guess it won’t be long before Chick-Fil-A decides to open their doors on Sundays? My wife, and I thought that this company had gutsy corporate management! Guess not? Chick-Fil-A has shown now that they are like all other corporations that have caved to politics, and no longer have any real values! Just want the almighty dollar! We will no longer be Chick-Fil-A customers!!!!!

  18. As much as I hate those who advocate destroying a person or business because of their believes. Having said that, Chick-fil-a got a huge boost and a lot of support from the very people they are now dissing. Just saying.

  19. I just bought my LAST Chick-fil-a this evening….They caved and I thought that they had a real backbone, but I guess NOT!! No more of my hard earned dollars going there!

    CYA

  20. Not sure exactly what’s going on with Chick-fil-A I hope most of it is not true but these days you can never tell . All you have to do is look to Fox News and see how much they’ve changed since the original owners have passed on I guess Chick-fil-A is taking a page out of the book

  21. I will no longer patronize from Chick-Fil-A. Apparently the Almighty Dollar is more important than Family & Religious Values they used to support.

Their actions now are a slap in the face to those of us who have stood up for the company when they were attacked by real hate groups.

Can you say hello Raisin Cane. Good bye Chick-fil-A.

  22. We supported Chick-fil-A when it was being boycotted. This is the thanks you we get a stab in the back. We can play the game if they want to be boycotted by Christian believers so be it.
I ate a this so called restaurant and got sick. My friend also ate there and he got sick also. You will never see me in that joint.

  23. I’m shocked that they’re donating to the SPLC. Wow! Did the top executives all take leave of their senses? I get adding donations to the LGBTQXYZ, but to STOP donating to Christian organizations……I don’t get it. Are they open on Sundays now?

  24. I guess money is more important than your belief in God never thought you would sink this low I guess you’ll start staying open on Sundays now that you lost your faith in God

    • It’s sad that money is more important than your brief. You are being judged by the actions you take so to the CEO be careful what you do

  25. Chick-fil-A ex supporters and customers pray for them every day and also for
    all believers in Christ.
The likes of hate organizations and people like Geo Sorros will be defeated

    Have faith in Christ.

  26. I am very disappointed Chick-fil-A. Will never eat there or endorse anything
Chick-fil-A again. The Christian walk is hard for most of use, especially those of us who do not have millions of dollars to claim, but I would NEVER, EVER TURN MY BACK ON MY CHRISTIAN VALUES OR DENY MY FAITH LIKE THE MANNER CHICK-FIL-A DID. Lukewarm much? You will be spewed out worse than the unbeliever. How will you answer your Heavenly Father when He asks you about this?

  27. Chick-fil-A , you should not listen to
these non-christion groups. You do not stand up for aborions, do you??
Stand for Christ. Who changed your
mind to drop Salvation army?? No no.
Shame on you! If you don’t stand for
something, you will fall for these
    craziness.

  28. I do believe that I will no longer support Chick-Fil-A. As a Christian I as condemned for my support of this company, now they have turned their back on all Christians for a penny more. They now embrace what Jesus condemned. Good by Chick-Fil-A

  29. I can’t tell Chick Fil A what to do, but there WILL be consequences about this (they WILL reap what they sowed). God “gave us power to get wealth, to establish HIS covenant”. Whose COVENANT are you establishing NOW?!? The WORLD will eat you up. It’s not WORTH it. Come back to God’s ways. It will go MUCH better for you. Team Trump and his allies 2020 – Keep America Great Again).

  30. The Chik-Fil-A shareholders should be demanding the resignation of the company’s CEO. Chik-Fil-A has had record sales the last few years as a result of christian customers making a point to support the company in the wake of all the anti-christian attacks. Some of us have gone completely out of our way to patronize the company. That will all be coming to an end now. I guess the idiot CEO forgot the old adage about biting the hand that feeds you.

  31. I guess next, they will be open on Sunday, I don’t care how good their product is , they have seen the last dollar that I will spend their. But there is always Popeye’s, and KFC.

    • Arby’s and Taco Bell for me. I don’t know if either supports Christian values, but Taco Bell supports my big secular love, Major League Baseball.

  32. I have always loved Chick-Fil-A and what they should for…..CHRISTian values. Always loved the background music as well. So very disappointed in their decision to not support the Salvation Army any longer. Shame, shame, shame on Chick-Fil-A. I will no longer support this restaurant. ….and always remember: those that are now making decisions for this restaurant will be judged by our Lord!

  33. You can take the LBKZOJEKVDF'[AK, AND SHOVE IT YOU KNOW WHERE.
NEVER GIVE IN TO THESE FREAKS………………..NEVER !!!!!
WHEN YOU DO THINGS LIKE THESE, I WOULD NEVER SUPPORT THEM, EVER !!!!

  34. Scratch Chick-Fil-A off the list.
I don’t willing contribute to those who support perversion and my demise.
Betrayed by a demon wearing chicken feathers.

  35. CF has fallen hard! If it doesn’t beg for forgiveness soon, it will never be great again! The little fish swam upstream for awhile but couldn’t handle what the big boys handle on a daily basis! “ Chicken on the Car and the Car won’t go “.

  36. It is one thing to abandon your principles as chick-fil-a has obviously done, but it is another to turn 360 degrees and give support to Anti-Christian groups that will use those same funds to attack other Christian groups. I can tell chicken-fil-a that I would never step foot inside their business and to be perfectly clear buy anything at the drive-thru, or have someone pick anything up for me. That said I think now we know the extent that chicken-fil-a has fallen hundreds of thousands of others will follow suit.

  37. Well, it looks like Chick-fil-A has just opened the door so that their restaurants can now open on Sundays! That will be in the near future since the only reason they remained closed on Sundays was to infer that the chain totally supported Christian values & allow the day off for Sunday worship. Now, supporting the Southern Poverty Law Center, an anti-Christian organization whose administrators have been allegedly involved in business and employment improprieties. News Flash! Popeye’s has a great tasting chicken sandwich, I’ve been told. Taking my business to Popeye’s since Chick-fil-A has now left a very bad taste for many former customers who feel betrayed.

  38. Prayer always helps before you make a move. And it is true, in companies there is always the one at the top that makes the Decisions. I am sure we will see a lot of this with Christian Businesses. We must hold them up in prayer.

  39. THEY SOLD THERE SOUL TO THE DEVIL FALSE GODS VERY SAD THEY WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS SOON BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE WILL STOP GOING BECAUSE THEY ARE NOW WORKING FOR THE DEVIL SO STOP GOING THERE STOP GOING TO MOVIES THAT HAVE HOLLYWOOD STUPIDS IN THEM JUST PLAIN STOP AND THESE PEOPLE AND BUSINESS WILL BE GONE

  40. The SPLC makes the Clinton Foundation look legit.
The blatant slimy practices of theSPLC give the Clintons a halo .
It only works because the press lets it .

  41. Sorry I won’t be eating at Chic Fil A anymore. They should remember that these constituents would prefer Lab made/synthesized Meats or meat substitutes… I actually eat there and enjoy their products.

  42. Might e nice if christians boldly declared a sense of compassion, and use stopped the REAL sin of supporting factory farming and the old idea that our fellow sentient beings are “food”.

Kentucky Fried Chicken recently trotted out a vegan fried chicken tender in Atlanta and sold out in five hours. If the Chick Fil-A folks can’t figure out that letting go of the slaughtered flesh is a good thing to do for godly reasons, maybe they should at least pay attention to where the mammon is headed.

  43. If you really want to understand what is going on in our government, I urge (even beg) you to read Andrew Breibart’s book called “Righteous Indignation” or at least watch Glenn Beck’s recent video called “The Democrat Hydra” on YouTube. Glenn’s video provides factual documents and text messages obtained through the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) and not conspiracy theory. If you agree this information is correct, you can do your part like I am by spreading it around.

  44. Chick-fil-a was my favorite place to stop for lunch or even take home some great grub for a fast dinner. I will have to fore-go my favorite for something else.
